Tommie Lee Drake, Sr., 75, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Americus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, December 29, 2022 in the C. T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Roy J. Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Coolspring Baptist Church (New Cemetery). There will be no public viewing according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Tommie Lee Drake, Sr. was born June 18, 1947 in Phenix City, AL to the late Bennie Lee Drake, Sr. and the late Elnora Gary Drake.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Bethel Christin Fellowship Church in Pittsview, AL until he moved back to Phenix City, AL. He was married to Gladys Perry Drake.
Mr. Drake was educated in the Phenix City School System and worked as a fixer at Fieldcrest Mills in Columbus, GA where he retired after 30 years or more of service. He also worked in the Phenix City and Russell County School Systems. He was a hard working man that enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking. He is preceded death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Gladys Perry Drake of Pittsview, AL; two sons, Tommy Drake, Jr. (Wanda) of Clarksville, TN and John Drake (Tiffany) of Flower Mound, TX; one daughter, Melinda Drake of Phenix City, AL; three grandchildren, Tyrell, Terrence and Jonaeya Drake; four brothers, Robert Drake (Gloria), Jimmy Drake, Ricky Drake (Cynthia) and Ronnie Drake( Arletha); two sisters, Helen Chisholm and Myrtis Codallo (Keith) and a host of other relatives and friends.
