Tommie Lee Johnson, 86, of Columbus, GA, passed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, June 11, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steven Short, officiating. Burial to follow at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Public viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Tommie Lee Johnson was born in Oswichee Alabama on February 15, 1940, to Donnie Piett Jones and Sam Johnson. Tommie was preceded in death by his parents; fourteen siblings; his wife, Willie Bell Johnson; son, Bruce Edward Johnson; grandson, Nicholas Terrell Johnson and the mother of his children, Betty Thomas Johnson.
Tommie was affectionately known as โNickโ. He grew up in Russell County, Alabama, worked at the local mills, Bickerstaff Clay Products and retired from Kinnett Dairy in Columbus, Georgia. He was saved and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later united with McCartha Drive Church of Christ in Columbus where he served faithfully until his health failed. Tommie was a praying man that loved watching TV and reading his bible daily.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Kenneth Johnson (Ruby), daughters, Judy Johnson, Shirley Johnson and Juanita (Robert) Hall, twenty-one grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
