Bro. Tony Grant, 55, of Hurtsboro, AL passed Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Montgomery, AL.
Graveside service will be 1:00 EST (12 noon CST), Saturday, October 29, 2022 at First Missionary Baptist Church, Hurtsboro, AL with Pastor Troy Clark, officiating. Visitation is Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Bro. Tony Bernard Grant was born on October 23, 1966 to Mattie Thomas and the late Mack Tinsley in Hurtsboro, Alabama.
Bro. Grant was a graduate of Russell County Training School class of 1984. He worked at Fieldcrest for five years and later became the janitor for Russell Elementary School in Hurtsboro, Alabama.
Bro. Grant accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined the First Missionary Baptist Church in Hurtsboro, Alabama under the leadership of Reverend David Holston.
Bro. Grant was preceded in death by his wife, Sallye Bowen Grant and father, Mack Tinsley.
His memories will be cherished by one daughter; Santosha Benton, Byron, GA; three sons, Cordelra Grant, Fort Wayne, IN, Tyriq and Terron Grant both Hurtsboro, AL; two step-sons, Kendarius and Ja’Quandre Bowen; mother, Mattie Thomas, Hurtsboro, AL; two sisters, Carolyn Grant, Hurtsboro, AL and Shirl Thomas, Phenix City, AL; four brothers, Travis Turpin, San Diego, CA, Eddie Upshaw, Hurtsboro, AL, Morris Upshaw, Phenix City, AL and Raymond Cox, Tuskegee, AL; six grandchildren, Tylen Grant, Tristen Grant, Niema Tinker, Cordae Grant, Charisma Grant and Cairo Grant and host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
