Obituary For Tony "T" Lee Taylor
Mr. Tony L. Taylor, 63, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, September 13, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Cascade Hill Church with Pastor Bobby John Stevens, officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Tony Lee Taylor, affectionately known as βTony Tβ, was born on May 24, 1963, in Columbus, GA. Tony attended Jordan High School, where he achieved great accolades from his time as a Point Guard on the basketball team. He was a 4-time All Bi-City Basketball awardee. He also briefly attended college in Buffalo, NY. Tony will be inducted into Jordan High Schoolβs Hall of Fame in October 2026.
Tony gave his life to Christ at an early age, joining Mt Tabor Baptist Church. He later joined the Cascade Hills Church family. Over the years, Tony was a tenured employee of Disco Fashions, Columbus Consolidated Government, Swift, and Cascade Hills Church.
Tony will be remembered as a devoted father, always having positive and great energy, having the biggest smile, but even bigger spirit. He will always be in our hearts as the life of the party and a forever friend to all.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Pauline Taylor; his siblings, Tichina Farley, Randy Harvey, and Linda Taylor; and his grandson, Nathaniel Washington-Ghant IV.
Tony is survived by his wife, Denise Taylor; his children, Martez (Tiffany) Cobb, Tamesha (Jeremy) Early, Nichole Jones, and Tierra (Nathaniel) Taylor; his grandchildren, Anayzah Deas, Kamari Cobb, and Justin Taylor; his sister, Janet (Donald) Bogan; his special friend, Vickie McCory, and a host of family and friends.

As a member of Mt Tabor Baptist Church since my childhood, I have had the opportunity to meet the entire Taylor family. When the name Tony T pops up, the big, happy smile surfaces in my mind. There was never a time when I saw or talked to Tony that he didn't smile during the entire conversation. He brought joy to many, just with the smile. Tony was the light and laughter in every room was in. Knowing him for so many years of my childhood and having the privilege to work alongside him was a blessing that I'll always give the Lord thanks for. He was by far one of the kindest and selfless people I've ever known. To know him was to love him. He was someone who could never be replicated or replaced. It has been an honor to know Tony these past years at Cascade Hills. He always had a big smile on his face and was ready to help with any question or with any way he could assist. I have sat with him many times while doing things around the church myself, and he always had a kind word to say or some encouragement to share. I will always remember that smile - wide open!
