Tora Danielle Hicks, 56, passed on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Harrison Ford, officiating. Burial to follow at West End Cemetery in Phenix City, AL. There is no public viewing.
Tora' Danielle Cox Hicks was born on September 14, 1968 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Sonja Cox Richardson and Melvin Johnson. She departed this life for eternal life April 29, 2025.
She graduated from Columbus High School in 1987. She received her Bachelor's degree in Science from Troy State University. She received her Master's degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. She was actively working towards her PH.D in Education at the time of her death.
Tora' was a believer of Jesus Christ. She believed in the power of prayer and love. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 23. Her favorite past time was to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Tora' leaves behind three daughters, Tara Caprice Hicks, Columbus, GA, Tamara Iman Hicks, Columbus, GA, and Tia Shalay Exume', San Jose, CA. She has two grandchildren, Cleo Clementine Exume' and Maziel Rhodji Hicks; she also leaves behind a husband, Tommy Hicks and a son-in-law Taj Malik Exume'. Other survivors include three sisters, a loving step-father, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

I worked with Tora for a few years and am deeply saddened and sorry to hear of her passing! My family and I send our deepest sympathy, condolences and prayers to the family! I know this is not easy but lean on one another and you will make it through this tough time!

I just wanna express my deepest condolences to Tora's ones, I got to know to her briefly through work , but I can tell you is she LOVED her grandchild and was really excited for the new one. May her soul rest in peace and again I'm truly sorry for the families loss.
