Venson B. Maddox, Jr., 26, passed on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Atlanta, GA.
Honoring the heart of Coach Maddox will be held 1:30 p.m. EST, Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Greater Beallwood Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Rev. Adrian Chester, pastor, officiating. One last huddle will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Coach's circle of Honor (Viewing and Visitation) will be Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Venson Bernard Maddox, Jr. was born on November 16th, 1998 to Juanita Williams Maddox and the late Venson Maddox, Sr. Venson was raised in a family of faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 16 years old.
Venson was employed with Kids footlocker; never meeting a stranger. He was as a Interrelated parprofessional and a coach at Hardaway High School. He loved the students at Hardaway, and giving back to the community that shaped him.
Venson transitioned, fighting until his last breath, on October 16, 2025 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by: his father, Venson Bernard Maddox, Sr., two aunts: Louise Clark and Alesia Maddox Davis, one uncle: Elder Xavier Maddox, and his childhood best friend: Richard (RJ) Cummings, Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his mother: Ms. Juanita Maddox, his sister Shaundra (Marlo), two brothers: Vontavious and Walter, his nephew Noah, his niece Marley, his paternal grandparents: Elder Arch and Gloria Maddox, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and friends.

To the Maddox Family, it is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest sympathies & condolences to you all during this most difficult time. Having young adult children I've adopted many of their friends as my own. Venson became family by way of my daughter. He was such a humble and very respectful young man. oh my sweet brother "vdawg" meeting you at just 11 years old & watching you become the man you were is just amazing! I appreciate all the fun memories.. we have always been neighbors from children to adults & I'm grateful to always have memories with your family & significant other.
