Obituary For William M. Christian, Jr.

Mr. William M. Christian, Jr., 61, of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Macedonia Christian Ministries, Columbus, GA with Pastor James Allen, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 1-5 p.m.EST.

William McKinley Christian, Jr. was born to the proud parents of Mr. & Mrs. William Christian, Sr. on January 7, 1960 in Fairfield, AL. A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend was called to rest on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA.

William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie & Ada C. Hosley, John T. & Virginia L. Christian; uncles, Charles L. Hosley, Rev. Carl H. Christian, Earl B. Christian, and a mother-in-law, Eva Williams.

William accepted Christ and was baptized into the Presbyterian Church (US) in Tuskegee lnstitute, AL and later joined Macedonia Christian Ministries. He was a very dedicated servant working faithfully as a Deacon, with the Transportation Ministry, and any other ministry that he could serve. There was no assignment too difficult for him, even if other's thought differently. His saying was "I'll take care of it", and he did!

William graduated high school from Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA. He continued his education and became a "very" proud Alumni of Auburn University Montgomery (AUM), where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Engineering.

William retired from Global Payments (formally TSYS) on March 31, 2021, after 25+ years in the same department (FCS), as a Computer Programmer.

William happily and joyfully married Twanda in November, 2007, and accepted her children as his own. William enjoyed life to the fullness, spending time with his wife, family, baking, cheering for the Auburn Tigers, the Dallas Cowboys, and traveling. William was soft spoken, always greeted a person with a smile, a joke, a dessert, and believed whole-heartly in relationships! If you ever had the privilege of tasting one of desserts, you know he baked from the heart! William never complained about the storms of life, but learned how to dance in the rain! And if you asked him, how are you doing, he would clearly say, "I'm fine"!

William leaves to cherish his sweet memory his wife; his parents; one daughter, Chiquita Taylor of Columbus, GA; two sons, Quintarus (Holli) Doleman and Travis Doleman of Phenix City; two aunt's Sandra Hosley, Pelham, AL and Vera J. Christian, Philadelphia, PA; uncle James A. Christian, Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Keyrill Taylor, Jamaal Taylor, Malik Doleman, Xavier Doleman, Nylah Doleman, and Isabella Doleman; four brother in law's, Gregory (Allegra) Rose, Mark (Loretta) Rose, of Phenix City, Al, Antonio Williams of Montgomery, AL, and Reginald Williams of Atlanta, GA; second godmother, Ossie S. Tuggle; two devoted friends Sherri Hill and Shay Peterson and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bill was my husband 's childhood friend, our neighbor when he lived in Montgomery, and a great photographer. I meet Twanda once or twice while they were dating . But i would always know when he called my husband ,that the Cowboys had won. I will always have the memories we shared and photos he took. He will be missed but never forgotten. GOD bless you family in your time of loss.

William and Twanda, Ali and I love you both very much. Over the last few years you both had become good friends and even family to us. We pray for healing blessings everyday and are thankful to have had the opportunity to know you both.

Towanda, I can't thank you enough for the sisterhood and brotherhood you and William extended to me and opening your hearts and home to me. I love you forever❤❤

Twanda, and Aunt Willie, and Uncle William. Keeping each of you in our loving thoughts and prayers in this difficult season you now find yourselves in. I am thanking God that many of us cousins, and his Uncle James Christian, were able to speak with and share with William, Jr. on our recent Christian Family ZOOM Fellowship on Sunday, November 14th. We love you all so much.

To Twanda, Mr. and Mrs. Christian, and the rest of the family I would like to express my sincere condolences. I will miss the lemon cakes William made for me and all the dinners we shared, good times! Remember crying may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. God binds up broken hearts.
