David Glen Murphy
Mar 31, 1972 — Aug 10, 2026
David Glen Murphy was called home in August 2026 at the age of 54. He was born to John Russell Murphy Sr., and Carol Ann Marshall Murphy on March 31, 1972.
Born and raised in the rhythm of Nashville, Tennessee, David carried the classic soul of Music City with him always, deeply appreciating the simple freedom of a good ride and a great song. His formative years at Whites Creek High School laid the foundation for a life defined by loyalty and lasting connections. David carried a deep and profound passion for anything with an engine; he loved cars, spent countless hours bringing them to life, and found peace whenever he was riding. This mechanical artistry was beautifully paired with his devotion to music—a spark that truly ignited when his best friend, Jeff Seymour, introduced him to DJing. Cyborg, drag mixes and mashups was a craft he deeply loved and shared generously with the world. While David was a quiet, gentle soul by nature, he carried a fierce conviction within, never hesitating to speak his mind when it mattered most. Yet, above all his passions and talents, David's greatest masterpieces were his daughters. He spoke of them constantly with an enduring pride, boundless love, and total devotion.
David Glen Murphy leaves cherished memories with his two children, Daisha Murphy Joyner (Robert) and Daemani Murphy, two grandchildren, Kaelyn and Kamiyah Joyner, brother, John Russell Murphy Jr., aunt, Delores Faye Marshall, uncle, Warren G. (Zera) Marshall Sr., and many other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents.
