Harold Loyd Brown
April 17, 1941 — December 19, 2025
Harold Brown Sr., born on April 17, 1941, in Crockett County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. He was the seventh of thirteen children born to John Henry and Germai Brown. Harold will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering strength, and devotion to his loved ones.
Harold accepted Christ and united with Antioch M.B. Church in Gadsden, Tennessee, at an early age and later joined Mount Zion Baptist Church, Nashville Tn.
He was educated at Pleasant Plains, Antioch, and Central High School, and was a proud alumnus of Central High School, where he graduated in 1960. He went on to further his education at Tennessee State University, where he met the love of his life, Juanita Seals Powell. On November 27, 1963, Harold and Juanita joined in holy matrimony. They spent just short of sixty years together before Juanita took her rest in 2020.
Harold was employed at Textron Aerostructures as an aircraft technician for thirty-seven years and retired in 2002. He later became fascinated with genealogy and proudly served as the family historian. Harold was instrumental in the start of the Bond Butler Brown Family Reunion and made sure he attended every gathering.
His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Harold is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Marilyn) Powell of Memphis, Tennessee, and Harold Brown Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; daughters, Nikkia (Aaron) Bates of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bria Brown of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Mann, Dollie (Raymond) Dingle, and Lucy Boykin; and one brother, Jesse (Robbie) Brown. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Brown, Yvonne Brown, and Margaret Somerville; brothers-in-law Roger McCobb and Leahmon Powell; and several nieces, nephews (who all looked up to him), cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Powell Brown; sisters Beatrice Brown, Mary Glenn (Pete), and Dora Brown McCobb; brothers Arnold Brown, Robert Brown (Rosemary), Charles Brown, John A. Brown, and Rudoil Brown; and sister-in-law Louise Christopher.
