William Richard Bell was born on September 30,1943 in Nashville, Tennessee to Warner Bell and Juanita Collier Bell and went home to be with Jesus on March 13, 2026. His faith has become sight. He attended Brown School, Nashville Christian Institute and Pearl High in Nashville.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 49 years, 6 months and 20 days Dr. Denise Price Bell, M.D. They first met 51 years, 41 days before his passing. He is also survived by his loving sons Sean (Lana) Bell and Brandon Bell.
He is reunited in heaven with his loving daughter Stephanie Renee Bell, age 20, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving daughter Rev. Dr. Teresa Burns. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Olivia Bell, Devin Bell, Randy Davis (Kaylia), Daniel Burns (Teriney), Carlesia Burns, his loving great-granddaughters Madison Davis and Lily Burns. He is also survived by his loving brother Robert Bell and his loving sister-in-law Chavela Bell. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends survive him as well. He is also reunited in heaven with his parents Warner Bell and Juanita Collier Bell who preceded him in death, as did his brother Larry Bell, his sisters Inez Bell, Ruby Carroll Bell, and his brother Andre Bell.
A longtime member of Teamsters Union Local 480, William drove more than 4 million miles during 35 years at Yellow Freight and additionally with Schwerman Trucking and Kroger, retiring from Yellow Freight in 2009. We thank God for bringing him home safely from all his road trips during all those years. A CB radio enthusiast, he was known as “Peanut Butter” and as “Triple Seven,” and was known far and wide. He fiercely loved his family, provided and sacrificed for us in so many ways, including caring for his children Sean, Brandon, and Stephanie during the day and working at night. He even went on school field trips during the day. He knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a longtime member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Ashland City, Tennessee and of Strong Tower Bible Church in Nashville, Tennessee. His warmth, kindness and great sense of humor was enjoyed by family, longtime friends and those whom he had just met. We miss him, but we know that he is in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, reunited with his beloved daughter Stephanie Renee Bell and so many other family members and friends. We grieve with hope, knowing that we will see him again. We will love him forever. To God be the Glory.
The family would like to thank Senior Pastor Chris Williamson, Associate Pastors Dorena Williamson, Felicia Mason, Dr. Jewyl Gibson, the Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses and staff of Strong Tower Bible Church for their love and care of William and our family over the years. “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.’ ” NKJV
