In her 93 years of life, Mrs. Beretha Walker Epps taught her friends and family many things. She taught her village how to fish and garden. Beretha loved all of her relatives, but she had a special place for the children in her life that affectionately named her their “Greedy Granny”. Most of all, Beretha taught her family and village to love, laugh and be happy. On Tuesday afternoon, the 6th of October, 2020; Beretha Walker Epps answered her saviors call to come on home. And without much fanfare put on her crown and took flight at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, GA.

Beretha was born on June 4, 1927 to Mr. Thacker Walker and Mrs. Lizzie Smith Walker in Harris County, Georgia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. James Epps; several siblings: Jimmie C. Walker, Flora Crawford, Mary Thomas, Willie C. Conner, and Gertrude Mullins.

Mr. Robert and Dorothy Dozier and family catered to Beretha’s needs during her twilight years. These cousins made many fun memories during this time.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, the Senior Celebrities at the Harris County Senior Center, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Due to COVID-19 and the weather forecast for 10/10/2020, the funeral service now will be held in the chapel at Terry Family Funeral Home - Hamilton 145 North College Street Hamilton, GA 31811. A 35 person maximum in the chapel will be enforced.
