Obituary For James Mahone

James, the son of the late Neal and Vadie Mahone, was born on June 6, 1946 in Hamilton,Georgia.

James attended the Harris County School System. As a child and throughout his teenage years, he helped his father on the family farm as well as with forestry. James relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he was employed by Tom Colvin Construction Company. He later moved back to Hamilton, Ga and was employed by Jimmy Jones Forest Company.

James affectionately known as ‘Boy’ and to others ‘Smiley’ had a personality that seemed larger than life and somehow managed to smile with his beautiful hazel eyes. James always had a smile on his face and very few people saw him with a frown. He loved spending time with his family and friends. As a young man, James was known to have an ‘old’ soul because of his special kind of passion for older people.

James is preceded in death by his parents: Neal and Vadie Mahone; three sisters: Margurite Copeland, Rose Mahone and Mary Grant and two brothers: Stephen Mahone & Clarence Mahone.

To cherish his memories, he leaves three sisters: Ann (Thomas) Harris, Bettye (Roy) Williams and Peggy Farley; one brother: Denson (Linda) Mahone; his special friend Annie Watts; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 28, 2020 @ 11AM at Hamilton Cemetery Forest Hill Drive Hamilton, GA. Due to COVID 19 Face Coverings and Social Distancing will be enforced. 50 guest maximum.
