Obituary for Orvinson Whitehead

Mr. Orvinson Whitehead slipped from the surly bounds of this Earth on October 17, 2020. He was a dear and special person to all that knew him.

He was born on October 7, 1938 to the late Morgan & Jannie Whitehead. Orvinson was a humble, decent and caring man. He loved being outside with nature. He was always content with cutting grass and working on items in the yard. Orvinson was a Bus Driver for the Harris County School System, he retired after many dedicated years of service.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Dovie J. Whitehead; and one brother: Sylvester Whitehead.

His memories will be cherished by a devoted wife of 52 years: Mildred DeLoach Whitehead; one daughter: Tammi Whitehead; two sons: Dewayne (Tammy) Copeland and Spence Whitehead; four grandchildren: Jamal Copeland, Brittany Copeland, LaShandria Copeland and Terijha (Rye) Whitehead; three great grandchildren: Alaeja Copeland, Kaylee Copeland, and Casshe Copeland; one sister: Maryese Gay; two brothers: Lester (Shirley) Whitehead and Ira (Charlie Mae) Whitehead; two sisters-in-law: Minnie Hyter and Bonnett (Calvin) Bowman; two brothers-in-law: Willie James (Dorothy) DeLoach and Jesse Deloach; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held October 23, 2020 @ 2PM at Terry Family Funeral Home 145 North College Street Hamilton, GA 31811. Due to COVID 19, face coverings and social distancing will be enforced.
