Willie Walker Jr. son of the late Willie and Ruby (Weldon) Walker was born January 28, 1935 in Hamilton, GA. On Tuesday, March 24 th God called Willie to his eternal heavenly home while he passed in his sleep.
In his early years, Mr. Willie Walker served in the military in the Korean War for 4 years and last year he finally received the Korean service Medal. While in the service, he married Minnie L. Walker his wife of 60+ years and later worked for Railway Express and Norfolk Southern for 45 years where he retired.
Willie joined Friendship Baptist Church of Hamilton, GA at an early age. He moved to Atlanta after serving in the military and he served as a Deacon at a few churches but served faithfully at St. John Missionary Baptist church for 30+ years but Friendship Baptist church will always be his home church.
In addition, to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only sister, Ruby C. Adams and his nephews Brooklyn Adams and Chapman Adams.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Minnie L. Walker; 7 sons and 1 daughter: Fernando, Sylvester, Jeffrey, Quentin(Gaye) Walker, Darius (Parenthenia) Walker, Rodriquez (Stephanie) Walker, Christopher Walker and Valerie T. Walker; three nieces: Kathy Adams-Battle, Katrina Adams-Brown and Lebrentha (Roger) Copeland; five nephews: Gregory (Alva) Adams, Elbert Adams, Howard Adams, Emmanuel Adams and John Adams; a faithful cousin: Annie Katherine Weldon of Hamilton, GA; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren,relatives and friends.
Praying that all of you will sense God's presence in this time of grief. We met Dea. Walker in 1999 at St. John B. Church. He was always friendly, very straight forward and a dedicated Sunday School teacher. We will miss our Christmas Card (our way of staying in touch).
