Alvinessa Ni’Esta Alexander Jackson, surrounded by family and friends, singing songs of praise, “AV”, as she was affectionately known, peacefully departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 44. She was a beloved resident of Oxford, Alabama. Born on Sunday, February 15, 1981, in Sylacauga, Alabama, Alvinessa's journey was marked by love, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met.
Alvinessa was a graduate of the Sylacauga High School Class of 1999. She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Jacksonville State University. Her passion for music found a harmonious outlet through her role as a musician at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Talladega, AL, where she dedicated her God given talents and time to her community and faith.
Alvinessa is lovingly survived by her daughter, Skyler (Joshua) Bethea, of Montgomery, Alabama; her son, Jayden Jackson, of Oxford, Alabama; her adoring grandchildren, Ayanna "Yanni Bug" Caridine and James Matthew Bethea V; and her mother, Bobbie Ann Mickey Alexander of Sylacauga, AL.
She will also be cherished in memory by her sisters, Tradina Alexander of Birmingham, Alabama, and Consuella (Timothy) Beavers of Harvest, Alabama; her brother, Aldric (Tammy) Berry of Macon, Georgia; and a host of other family members and friends.
Preceding her in death were her spouse, Anthony Jackson; her beloved father, Alvin Alexander; her cherished grandmother, Annie Mae Alexander; her grandfather, Louis Alexander; her aunts, Annie Vera Amey and Clarine Borden; and her special Godfather, Ephraim Stockdale.
“AV” will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her passion for music, and her joyous spirit that uplifted everyone around her. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. She loved reading and shopping.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
