Annie Louise Russell Storey was born on December 28, 1939, in Marion, Alabama. She was the first child born to Dock Russell Sr. and Annie W. Underwood Russell.
The family relocated to Talladega when she was two years old and was educated in the Talladega City Schools system. Annie accepted Christ in her life as a teenager and has been in the church all of her adult life. She has been a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church for many years and has served on different committees such as the missionary society and sang in the choir until her illness kept her at home.
Annie knew that she would have to work hard and steady to provide for her family, and that she did. As a young woman she worked at Ralston Purina Company for over 10 years. Later she started working at AIDB as a teacher’s aid and as a dorm mother at Talladega College where she worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed mentoring and mothering the students whom she often kept in contact with.
Annie is survived by children, Overseer Gloria Hudson (Bishop Larry), Deborah Evans (Anthony), and Antonio Storey; grandsons, Larry Hudson Jr., Daniel Hudson (Reba), Dimetrius Batiste, Tobios Storey, Terrence Storey, Kelvin J. Lee, and LaMichael Long; granddaughters, Tameka Ashley, Sakethia Dobbins (Carlos), Kindra Lee, and Camery Long; siblings, Walter Russell (Mary), Dorothy Whitsett, Deloise Fikes (Eddie), Linda Brantley, Joyce Babbs, David Russell and Adrianne Underwood.

My sincere condolences to the Russell and Storey families. Miss Annie was my dorm mother when I came to Talladega in 1985 and later I was blessed to work with her at the Alabama institute for the deaf and blind. She was a great inspiration to me always friendly always smiling and taking time to give me encouragement every time we met. May the holy Spirit bring you all comfort in this time of sorrow.
