Obituary For Byron Darrell Burt

Funeral service for Byron Darrell Burt, 50, will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Reverend John L. Ragland, Jr. will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p. m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the funeral home.

On December 19, 1972, Beulah M. Burt and Ronnie Richardson welcomed a son, Byron Darrell, in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. Burt was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the school system of Talladega. Byron was a former employee of Deep South and Masterbrand. He enjoyed fishing, music, spending time with his goddaughter, playing cards and proclaiming to be the best on the BBQ grill there ever was.

Byron was the loving son of Beulah (Harold “Kent”) Long and Ronnie Richardson; brother to Rondreaca Burt, Sharrica (Reggie) Chatman, LaShanette Garrett, Shawana (Jarrod) Beavers and Derrick (Ashley) Faulkner; nephew of Sharon (Frederick) Faulkner, Dorothy (Anthony) Curry, Angelina Griffin, Sandra Faye Richardson, Jo Ann Player, Shirley Curry, Beverly Tanner, Vera (Buford) Curry, Shondra Swain, Mary Charles Calhoun, Hattie Richardson, Joseph (Joyce) Burt, Joh (Lou Alice) Burt, Mike (Donna) Richardson and Larry Dean (Geree) Richardson; uncle to Taliyah Bennett, Kaylin Burt, Crystal Burt, Dexter Smoot, Niya Burt, K. J. Ragland, R. J. Chatman, Amiyah Garrett, Derrick, Jr., Olivia, Kingston and Preston, great uncle to Legend; Godfather to J’King Beavers and Nevaeh Trammell; special cousin to Kizzy Twymon, Dana Palmer, Angela Martin and Marteen Blue; common law husband, confidante and patient of Pamela Reuter; stepfather to LaShae (Lucas Hall) Reuter; and relative and friend to a host of others.

On April 22, 2023, the Lord saw that Byron had gotten tired from all the illness and pain he had been experiencing, so he called him home to rest. He was welcomed in eternity by his brother, Christopher L. Burt; grandparents, James and Bessie Burt, Walter and Emma Richardson and Carson “Sonny” and Alice Long; one aunt, Devetta Richardson; and five uncles, Charles Burt, Willie James Burt, Winfred Richardson, Marvin Richardson and Joseph Long.
