Obituary For Carthell Storey

A celebration of life honoring Mr. Carthell Storey, 94, of Lincoln will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Joseph S. Rowser, Jr. will deliver the eulogy. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Storey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the funeral home.

Mr. Carthell Storey was born on June 6, 1929, to the union of A. G. Storey and Danny C. Hall Storey in Lincoln, Alabama.

Mr. Storey united with Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church during which time he served as a trustee. He was educated in the schools of Talladega County and went on to have a career at the Anniston Army Depot until retirement. Carthell loved sports, in particular, he was a big fan of the L. A. Dodgers.

Carthell leaves behind to celebrate his life: four daughters, Jacqueline Fomby of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Anita J. Storey of Lithonia, Georgia, Evonne Hubbard of Huntsville, Alabama and Debbie Bulls of Lithonia, Georgia; two sons, Charles D. (Eartha) Storey of Jonesboro, Georgia and Paul H. Storey of Springfield, Ohio; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Storey Truss of Lincoln, Alabama and Polly Storey (Reiles) Berry of Euclid, Ohio; two brothers, LeRoy (Catherine) Storey of Inglewood, California and Titus Storey of Anniston, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Storey traded time for eternity on September 14, 2023. He was preceded in passing by his parents, A. G. and Danny C. Storey; a son, Dexter Storey; and two sisters, Burvina Storey Hill and Minnie G. Johnson.
