Obituary For David Eugene Tolley

Graveside service for Mr. David Tolley of Hueytown, 52, will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Beck Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the funeral home.

On July 22, 1968, in Cumberland County, North Carolina, David Tolley and Lila Webb Clayton welcomed a son, David Eugene Tolley.

Mr. Tolley was a Christian by faith and was raised in the Pentecostal church. As an adult, David did not embrace any particular denomination, but loved and fellowshipped with those that loved Christ. He was a member of the 1986 graduating class of Haralson County High School in Tallapoosa, Georgia. After completing high school, David continued his education at Jacksonville State University and received his Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law. He utilized his knowledge and talents by dedicating many years to the Social Security Administration. In addition to his educational endeavors, David served honorably in the United States Army. David was also a dedicated member of the Dothan Lodge #112 of Prince Hall F&AM and held many offices since becoming a member. Mr. Tolley was also a collector of many things such as PEZ, cookie jars, stuffed camels and even salt and pepper shakers.

On August 28, 1992, David took the hand of the former Victoria Beck in holy matrimony and this union was blessed with three children.

Mr. Tolley answered the call of his Lord and Savior in the early hours of Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. He was preceded in passing by his parents, David Tolley and Lila Clayton.

David is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Victoria Beck Tolley of Hueytown, Alabama; three children, Samantha Mae Tolley, Savannah Grace Tolley and Demetrius David Tolley of Hueytown, Alabama; two grandchildren, Lila A. and Nila A.; two brothers, Harold (Debra) Jennings and Jack Crocker of Haralson County, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
