Obituary For David Levester White

Home going services for Mr. David L. White, 86, will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Lane Chapel CME Church. Reverend Pearson McGhee is the pastor. Reverend Deborah Pace will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. White will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

David Levester White was born to on December 30, 1932 to the union of John White and Daisy Lane White in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. White united with Lane Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church at an early age. He completed his education in Talladega County. He was inducted into the United States Army on May 14, 1953 where he served honorably until March 18, 1955 at rank of Corporal. David was employed with Anniston Pipe Shop, Bemis Company and Wehadkee Yarn Mill. On April 21, 1968, David and the former Nettie Mae Whitson united in holy matrimony.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, David traded time for eternity at his residence. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Nettie Mae White; a son, Frederick White; his parents, John and Daisy White; and two siblings, Mary Pope and John White, Jr.

David leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Lela M. (Gentle) Handley of Munford, Alabama, Yvonne Strown of Talladega, Alabama and Nellie (Jimmy) Patton of Munford, Alabama; three sons, Jimmy Whitson, Lonnie White and Sylvester White of Talladega, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Simmons of Buffalo, New York and Marie Mosley of Talladega, Alabama; two brothers, Clarence (Laura Ann) White of Talladega, Alabama and Willie James (Marion) White of Buffalo, New York; a special friend, Thelma Estelle of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
