On Wednesday, June 20, 1951, Andrew D. Beavers and Ophelia Ragland Beavers of Talladega, Alabama welcomed their sixth daughter, Deborah Lois Beavers, to their family. She was the twelfth of fourteen children born to this union.
Ms. Beavers committed her life to Christ at an early age and united with Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend M. C. Jones. Later, Deborah found her church home at Rest In the Lord Ministries under the leadership of Pastor George Adams. Deborah was educated in the Talladega City School System and continued her education earning an Associate degree in Food Service. She worked domestically for a number of years to care for her two sons, Kenneth and Letrek. During her down time, Deborah enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, knitting, gardening and like most ladies she found happiness in a little retail therapy.
On Friday, December 25, 2020, God saw it was time to call Deborah home. She was welcomed home by her son, Kenneth Beavers; her parents, Andrew D. and Ophelia Beavers; and nine siblings, Florence Sims, Doris Merritt, Emma Garrett, Andrew Beavers, Jr., Alfonso Beavers, Jerry Beavers, Johnny Beavers, Willie Beavers and Barron Beavers.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted son, Letrek (Latonya) Beavers of Talladega, Alabama; a special son, Randy Lawson of Talladega, Alabama; five grandchildren, Latoya Beavers, Letrice Beavers, Latosha Beavers, Niyah Barclay and Algernon Barclay; six great grandchildren, Amaurii Beavers, Araylii Beavers, Aalijah Beavers, Aaron Black, Jr., Aalivia Black and Ryli Barclay; three sisters, Betty Simmons and Catherine Collins of Talladega, Alabama and Kathy Dickerson of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Charles (Lillian) Beavers of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a special brother, George (Mary) Ragland of Gadsden, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
