Obituary For Earnest Dewayne Maxwell

Graveside services for Mr. Earnest Dewayne Maxwell, 47, will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Lane Chapel Church Cemetery. Rev. John L. Ragland, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020.

Mr. Earnest Dewayne Maxwell began his earthly life on Wednesday, July 26, 1972, to the union of Josephus Maxwell and Beverly White Spencer in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. Maxwell attended Word Alive International Outreach under the leadership of Pastor Kent Mattox. He received his education in the Talladega County School System and was a member of the 1990 graduating class of Winterboro High School. Earnest was employed with Fab Arc in Oxford, Alabama for a number of years and later began welding in Mississippi.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, Mr. Maxwell began his life in eternity at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in passing by his father, Josephus Maxwell; his grandparents, Earnestine White, Samuel D. White and Lula Borden; a brother, Josephus Maxwell, Jr.; and a sister, Tina White.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Cheryl L. Lawson of Talladega, Alabama; one daughter, Chelsea Jonae Kelly of Talladega, Alabama; two special children, Quintasia Kelly and V’nonte Chapman of Talladega, Alabama; five grandchildren; his mother, Beverly White Spencer of Talladega, Alabama; five sisters, Patricia Maxwell and Lois Mitchell of Talladega, Alabama, Beverly Mitchell, Elida (James) Truss and Veronica (Shane) Cannoy of Lincoln, Alabama; one brother, Maurice Kelly of Talladega, Alabama; seventeen nieces and nephews, Jonathan Headen, Quendarius Taylor, Joetavius Maxwell, Shelicia White, Shantrice Simmons, Zakerria Tanner, Cameron Davenport, Jamiesha Taylor, Nichole Meadows, Zanita Williams, Ciara White, Shontorria McKinney, Maurice Kelly, Jr., Dominick Bennett, Shakiyla Terry, Kennedi Kelly and Clifton Mitchell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
