Obituary For Frank S. Cook

A celebration of life for Mr. Frank Sandy Cook of Talladega, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Reverend Louis Cook will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in New Maryland church cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the funeral home.

In 1940, just as the world was preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, Earnest Cook and Ollie Burton Cook rejoiced at the birth of their son, Frank on December 24th in Talladega County, Alabama.

At an early age, Frank united with New Maryland Missionary Baptist Church. Although he may not have attended church regularly, Frank knew the Lord was his light and salvation. Frank attended school in his community. He did not complete school, but he learned the importance of hard work and developed skills to provide for his family. He found his niche in construction and developed his skills in roofing. In his spare time, you would find Frank cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins and Auburn Tigers.

On the evening of May 3, 2022, the Lord saw that Frank was tired and called him home to rest in eternal peace. He was welcomed to his new home by his wife, Lucille Cook; his parents, Earnest and Ollie Cook; and seven siblings, Albert Cook, George Cook, William Cook, Bobby Cook, Annie Cook Swain, Ellen Cook and Olla Mae Perkins.

Frank leaves to continue his legacy: four sons, Tony Fuller of Talladega, Alabama, Anthony Fuller of Louisville, Kentucky, Eddie Fuller of Alpine, Alabama and Josephus Fuller of Childersburg, Alabama; eight daughters, Regina (Willie) Glover of Munford, Alabama, Brenda Menefield of Sylacauga, Alabama. Valerie (Darrell) Jones and Jackie (Daniel) Schmeling of Clarksville, Tennessee, LaFredia Taylor of Anniston, Alabama, Jeanetta (Michael) Kirksey of Sylacauga, Alabama, Sylvia Sheppard and Joyce Calhoun of Childersburg, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Garrett and Martha (Mason) Ragland of Talladega, Alabama; two brothers, John Cook and Ollice (Betty) Cook of Talladega, Alabama; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
