Obituary For Geraldine Davis
Born on June 1, 1940, in Talladega, Alabama, Geraldine F. Davis, affectionately known as Gerri, dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching at Graham Elementary School, where she touched the hearts and minds of generations of students. Her impact in the classroom was profound — her former students still speak fondly of her, the lessons she taught, and the life she modeled.
Geraldine was an active and faithful member of Jacob's Chapel CME Church, where she served her congregation with humility and love. Her warm spirit, grace and generosity defined her.
She was known for her love of sports, her exceptional cooking, her loving heart, and her willingness to give whatever she had to someone in need. Whether it was a meal, a kind word, or simply a listening ear, Geraldine gave it freely without expecting anything in return. She lived by the motto: “Get all the gusto out of life you can.”
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Sonny" Davis; her son, Lamar Davis; grandson, Nicolas Cook; her parents, Percy and Jesse Fuller; sister, Verness Thomas and brother-in-law, Jimmy Bridgeman.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Sonya (Darrell) Cook; six grandchildren, Nicole Cook, Niles Cook, Jobeca (Joe) Williams, Randall Steele, Aubree Davis and Charlotte James Davis; one great-grandchild, Jade Williams; three sisters, Rosemarie Bridgeman, Sheryl (John) Fuller and Wanda (Michael) Patterson; two brothers, Percy (Betty) Fuller Jr., and William Fuller; four nieces, Kayla Patterson, Kori Patterson, Pamela (Jeremy) Reaves and Takesha Chatman; five nephews, Dexter Bridgeman, Scotty (Mary) Fuller, Kyle Patterson, Vernon Thomas and Wendell Thomas; along with a host of in-laws, cousins and extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
Geraldine's life was a testament to compassion, strength, and service. Her legacy will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know and love her.

Learning of the passing of Mrs. Geraldine Davis was like losing a member of my own family. I was a close friend of the Percy Fuller family when I lived in Talladega. We were neighbors and I still have very fond memories of them all. May they all be comforted by knowing that Gerry will be mourned by legions of friends and acquaintances whom she gathered during her beautiful life. May her smiling face be remembered forever.
