Henrietta Simmons passed away peacefully in Carrollton, Georgia on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on Monday, April 25th, 1955, in Talladega, Alabama to the late William Henry and Minnie Ree Simmons, Henrietta's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love for her family and friends.
Henrietta was a proud graduate of Talladega High School and went on to further her education at Talladega College. Her career path led her to a commendable role at FCI Talladega, from which she enjoyed a well-earned retirement. A woman of strength and commitment, Henrietta also served her country with honor in the Army.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Henrietta found joy in life's simpler pleasures. She was an avid music enthusiast, loved traveling, and was passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle through regular exercise.
Henrietta's legacy continues through the lives of her children: William Curry, Martinez (Patricia) Curry, and Keva Curry, who were her pride and joy. She adored her three grandchildren, Alex, Alexis and Langdon; and her three great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Eleanor Simmons, Martha Simmons and Victoria (Carl) Hill; her caring brothers, Larry Simmons, Herman Simmons, Franklin Simmons, and Lyndon (Shakira) Staples. Her memory will be fondly cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and countless friends.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Willie Percy Simmons; her grandparents, Joe and Jennie Duncan, William F. Simmons and Martha Johnson; as well as her nephew, Alvin D. Frazier.
Henrietta Simmons leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her, leaving behind affirmations of a life well lived. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported and loved Henrietta throughout her life; and also those who have sent love, support and prayers to us during this difficult time.

You are A Legacy of Light Henrietta The sun dips low, a canvas of fire, But embers of your spirit still inspire. Your laughter rings, a melody so sweet, A rhythm of resilience, a vibrant beat. Though shadows fall, and tears may softly weep, Your memory lingers, promises to keep. A legacy of strength, a spirit bright, A beacon shining in the darkest night. The seeds you sowed, they blossom and grow, A testament to the love you used to bestow. Your journey ends, but your story's not done, In every sunrise, a new day begun. So let us gather, with hearts full of grace, To celebrate the beauty of your face. And as we remember, with love and with care, Your legacy of light, forever we'll share.
