A memorial service for Mr. Jalen DeShaun Allen, 27, of Pell City will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Hardin's Chapel Bible Church, 7704 AL 144, Ragland, AL 35131.
Jalen DeShuan Allen was the first born son of Alandarus Jerone Allen and Deanna Allen. He began his earthly journey on Saturday, June 8, 1996, in Pell City, Alabama.
Mr. Allen was a lifelong member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Ragland. Along his Christian journey, Jalen participated by singing in the choir and growing spiritually as a member of the Sunday school. Educationally, Jalen began school in Ragland. After completing the fifth grade and transferring to Pell City, Jalen became a member of the 2014 graduating class of Pell City High School. He was hard-working and you could often find him perfecting his many talents. Jalen was a lover of the arts and spent several years playing the guitar and other instruments, painting tribal figures and listening to a plethora of music genres. He was also very good with his hands. Jalen completed electrical training during his two year stent living in Hawaii, could easily fix things around the house and quickly became a jack of all trades. Within the last year, Jalen added truck driving to his resume and began working for Western Express, Inc.
Jalen will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Anyone who knew Jalen was very fond of him. While he was often quiet, but when he did talk many would say he was quite funny, kind and a caring gentle giant. He was one of the most pleasant and well-mannered young men you could ever meet, touching the hearts of everyone he met. He never met a stranger and they were all considered friends. He taught those around him to enjoy the simplicities of life. Jalen also enjoyed playing basketball with his younger brother, surfing the waves of Hawaiian beaches, games of Chess, reading and camping. He loved all of those around him and would give the shirt off of his back if someone was in need.
Jalen leaves behind his parents, Alandarus Jerone and Deanna Allen of Pell City, Alabama; his brother, Tevin (Christina) Allen of Pell City, Alabama; a grandfather, James (Celeste) Allen of Locust Grove, Georgia; aunts, Venishia (Harrison) Stewart of Nashville, Tennessee and Veronica (John) May of Pell City, Alabama; uncles, Chayse Foreman of Ragland, Alabama, Joseph (Rhonda) Bunt and Michael (Jennifer) Bunt of Pell City, Alabama; special cousins, Chelsea (Robin Blake) Turner and Johnathan May of Pell City, Alabama, Sara Bunt of Huntsville, Alabama, Michael William (Abby) Bunt and Victoria Bunt of Pell City, Alabama; special friends, Cadet Byers, Cody Roberts, Ethan Ramsey and Leah Homesly; and a host of other cousins and friends.

I never got to meet you but your mom always spoke so highly of you and your brother. I enjoyed listening to the many stories she shared with us durning down time at the salon. God please be with his parents, brother and entire family.
I know Jalen liked to go his own way. Like when he was a Notre Dame fan. Or when he up and moved to Hawaii. He blazed trails in this world and he did it bravely. Jalen was a huge blessing to my life. I am a better person because of him. Jalen, I will miss you boy. Love you always, aunt Jennifer.
Sending sympathy and comfort in these times. We pray God will continue to strengthen and comfort the family.
Prayers for the Family in this tragic loss
They say cousins are the first friends you ever have, and I would say that is true for the Bunt group. I remember Jalen and Tevin were always over at our house or we were at theirs finding adventures to go on and exploring the small worlds around us as kids. We grew up and explored our own worlds, found our own adventures, learned our own lessons, but Jalen will always be one of my first friends and he will always be family in our memories and our hearts.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
