Mr. Jerry Sam Alford began life’s journey on Sunday, March 5, 1950, to the union of the late Mr. Jerry Alford, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lois Jones Alford in Talladega, AL.
He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a faithful member of Kings Chapel Church. Jerry received his education at Talladega County Training School and furthered his education at N. F. Nunnelley Technical College as a brick mason. Jerry was a full time farmer and store helper at Jerry’s Grocery.
Jerry enjoyed life and loved his family and friends. He especially enjoyed singing with the Pilgrim Jubilees and loved to dress like his favorite artist, Barry White.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: his loving children, Tamara Alford, Sheri Alford, Shemeka Alford and Anthony Hunter of Talladega, AL; a special brother, Charles Chapman of Talladega, AL; a sister, Datie Rhone of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Zion Hall and Kaya Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Alford concluded life’s journey on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Debron Phillips.
