Johnny Lee Curry, who peacefully departed this world on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at the age of 61 was born on Wednesday, February 20th, 1963. Johnny was a beloved resident of Lincoln, Alabama.
Johnny was a member of Union Spring missionary Baptist Church. He attended Lincoln High School, where he laid the foundation for a life enriched by community and driven by passion. He dedicated his career to serving as a security guard at Greater Grace Temple, where his presence was both calming and reassuring to all who entered its doors.
An avid outdoorsman, Johnny found joy in the simplicity and beauty of nature. He loved hunting and fishing, and these hobbies allowed him to connect deeply with friends and family. Football was another passion, and his fervent support for the sport brought him countless hours of enjoyment and camaraderie.
Johnny was a man of deep family ties, and he leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughter, Ana Lisa (Marcus) Smoot of Detroit, MI; his son, Untavis (Kiera) Reynolds of Talladega, AL; and his cherished grandchildren, Reiana Jackson, Devin Smoot, Jaida Smoot, Brelon Reynolds, Tobias Bradley, Marquize Reynolds, Keandres Reynolds, Kemari Reynolds, Kamir Reynolds, Khliyah Reynolds, Jordan Mosley and Madison Lindsey. His siblings, Pamela Curry and Sheila Curry of Talladega, AL, Ronald (Tranzara) Curry of Sylacauga, AL, Bobby Joe (Felicia) Curry of Childersburg, AL, and Titus Curry of Talladega, AL, will hold dear the memories shared with Johnny.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Elston and Gloria Jean Curry; his grandparents, Robert and Leavie Curry and Elbert and Mavis Elston; his aunt, Barbara A. Curry; and his uncles, Robert Curry, Jr., Clarence Curry, and Titus G. Curry.
Johnny will be remembered not only for his quiet strength and loyalty but also for the joy and laughter he brought to every gathering. He touched the lives of many, be it through his work, passions, or the love he had for his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, the spirit of Johnny Lee Curry will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
