LaShunda was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1979, in the vibrant community of Talladega, AL to Sandra Chatman and Stephen Monroe Allen.
LaShunda was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Alpine, AL where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
A proud graduate of Talladega County Central High School in 1997, LaShunda dedicated herself professionally as a notary. Her passions included connecting with friends on Facebook, reading, dining out, singing, and dancing—activities that reflected her vibrant spirit.
LaShunda is lovingly remembered by her cherished children: daughter, Mia Allen of Memphis, TN and sons, Fedarrious Allen and Tristan Allen of Talladega, AL; her devoted mother, Sandra Chatman of Alpine, AL and her father, Stephen Monroe Allen. She was the adoring grandmother to Phoenix Trammell of Gadsden, AL and Malachi Martin of Memphis, TN, with whom she shared countless joyful moments. Her siblings: sister, ShaDonna (James) Hawkins of Pell City, AL and brother, Stephen Allen of Coram, NY, will fondly remember her infectious laughter and boundless love.
LaShunda's life was enriched by the presence of her special aunts, Gwendolyn Mebane of Graham, NC, and Leslie Chatman of Alpine, AL, and her special uncles, John E. Chatman of Sylacauga, AL, James E. Chatman of Pell City, AL, Dennis Chatman of Childersburg, AL and Danny Chatman of Talladega, AL. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss her dearly. Her friendship and support extended to special friends Jessica Carrington, Jessica Swain, Shanell Swain, Tanya Garrett, Jennifer Cook and many more.
LaShunda, who departed this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, John Chatman, Jr., Donnie Chatman, Monroe Allen, and Mary Catherine Allen, who welcomed her with open arms.
Although her physical presence will be sorely missed, her spirit and influence will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace
