LILLIAN ELIZABETH SADDLER LAWRENCE
January 12, 1931 – May 28, 2026
Lillian Elizabeth Saddler Lawrence, age 95, of Talladega, Alabama, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 28, 2026.
Born on January 12, 1931, in Gantts Quarry, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Major Saddler and Mary Lou Oden Saddler. A graduate of East Highland High School and Alabama State University, Lillian dedicated 33 years of her life to educating children, primarily as a beloved second-grade teacher in the Talladega City School System.
A faithful servant of God, Lillian was a devoted member of Mount Canaan Baptist Church, where she served in numerous capacities including Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess, Missionary Society President, and Mother of the Church. She was passionate about children, education, and serving others.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Y. Lawrence, Jr.; her son, Reginald Bernard Lawrence; her parents; brothers, John and George Saddler; and sisters, Juanita Long and Mae Eva Threatt.
She leaves to cherish her memory her twin daughters, Krista Lawrence and Karyn Fraction (Scott); daughter-in-law, Rhonda Lawrence; grandchildren, Felisha Lawrence, Austin Fraction, Joshua Fraction, and Lauryn Fraction; sister, Pauline Saddler Hamlette; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She also leaves behind her dear friend of more than 60 years, Marie Player.
Lillian will be remembered for her unwavering faith, love of family, dedication to education, and kind, nurturing spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lawrence Family Scholarship Fund at Alabama State University.
