Obituary For Linsey Wilson Groce

Funeral services for Mr. Linsey Wilson Groce, 96, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend A. G. McKinney will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Kelly Springs Memorial Gardens. Visit will be from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the funeral home.

Mr. Linsey Wilson Groce began life’s journey on September 20, 1927, in Talladega, Alabama. He was one of seven children born to the union of George Groce and Maggie Phillips Groce.

Mr. Groce dedicated his life to Christ and was a member of the Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church serving as a layman. He was educated in the schools of Talladega County. Linsey spent much of his adult life in Florida working in various capacities, but returned home to Talladega in 1996 to live out at the remainder of his days. He was an active church member until his health began to fail and enjoyed reading the Bible.

Linsey is survived by his caregivers, Deloris and Denson Hunley; close cousins, Shelia Stockdale, Tina Bolden and Teresa Cole; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On the morning of May 21, 2024, Linsey’s long journey of life came to a close. He is was preceded in passing by his parents, George and Maggie Groce; and six siblings, Bertha G. Christian, George W. Groce, Jr., Mary Groce, Annie Groce, James Groce and Andrew Groce.
