Born on Saturday, August 14th, 1948, in Talladega, Alabama, Lorenza lived a life full of love, dedication, and hard work. At the time of his passing, he resided in San Antonio, Texas.
Lorenza spent his early years in Talladega, attending Munford High School. His professional journey led him to a fulfilling career as a porter, retiring from Mandina’s Restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression.
Beyond his career, Lorenza was known for his passions—he enjoyed shooting pool, dancing, and cooking, bringing people together and creating cherished memories with family and friends. His lively spirit and kind heart will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
Lorenza is survived by his beloved life partner, Mary Pearlie Greene; his children, Shelia Jessemy and Cassandra Greene of New Orleans, Louisiana, Brenda Christian of Hartford, Connecticut, Christine (David) McKenzie and Cynthia (Maurice) Tuck of Talladega, Alabama; sons, Lorenza Christian, Jr. of Hartford, Connecticut, Eric Christian and Lorenza (Keisha) Greene of Talladega, Alabama, Demayne Greene and Antonio (Shirley) Greene of San Antonio, Texas. He was a cherished grandfather to forty grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Lorenza's extended family includes his sisters, Sharon (Tim) Greene and Dawn Horton of New Orleans, Louisiana; brothers, Calvin Horton, Jr. of Mississippi, Christopher Horton of New Orleans, Louisiana and Paul Horton of Mississippi.
Lorenza Christian departed this life on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Pope and his mother, Josephine Hampton; sons, Bobby Leon Greene and Anthony Tyrone Green; his granddaughter, Lakisha Greene, as well as his siblings, JoAnn Horton, Antoinette Johnson, Carlyon Horton and Martha Ann Horton; his brothers, Joseph Christian and Larry Horton and his grandmother, Annie Lee Canady.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and his legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
