Obituary For Mary Lois Meadows

Home going service for Ms. Mary Lois Meadows of Talladega, 75, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Jerry Jones is the pastor. Reverend Hardy Reynolds, Jr. will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in the Meadows-Welch Cemetery. Ms. Meadows will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the funeral home.

On March 4, 1946, in Talladega County, Alabama, Henry Meadows, Jr. and Hannah Mae Reynolds Meadows welcomed a daughter, Mary Lois, to their family.

Ms. Meadows was a member of Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church where she has served on the women’s missionary board and sang in the senior choir. She was educated in the schools of Talladega County and concluded her education at Phyllis Wheatley High School. After completing her education, Mary Lois was employed with Tyson Foods and worked in various domestic capacities. During her free time, Mary Lois enjoyed sewing and cooking.

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, with outstretched arms, the Lord welcomed Mary Lois home. She was welcomed in eternity by her parents, Henry and Hannah Meadows; and nine siblings, Nora Lee Tuck, Jimmie Lou Meadows, Bessie Mae Bickley, Catherine Meadows, William Henry Meadows, George Meadows, Mae Lou Duncan, Allene Meadows and Ella Jane Spencer.

Ms. Meadows leaves precious memories in the heart of her daughter, Hannetta Meadows Kirkland (Frankie Stone, Jr.) of Talladega, Alabama; one grandson, Katerrian Stone of Talladega, Alabama; one sister, Willie Ann Meadows of Talladega, Alabama; two brothers, Warren (Gwendolyn) Turner of Talladega, Alabama and Tim Meadows of Rockford, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Peggy Meadows of Talladega, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Duncan of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
