Obituary For Maxine Burt Duncan

Funeral services for Maxine Burt Duncan, 89, of Talladega will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Maxine Duncan, daughter of David C. Burt and Julia Jemison Burt, was born in Munford, Alabama on August 12,1933. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Munford, Alabama. She loved the church, served as an usher and loved her times attending mission meetings.

Maxine was educated in the Talladega County School System. She graduated from Jenifer High School in Munford, Alabama in 1951 and attended Fort Valley State College Nursing School for one year. She was employed with Alabama School for the Blind as a house parent for several years.

On Wednesday, January 18,2023, Maxine departed this life at Talladega Healthcare Center in Talladega, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, David C. Burt and Julia Burt; four brothers, Arden Burt, David Burt, Jr., Willie E. Burt and Charlie T. Burt; a sister, Ruth Burt; and a niece, Barbara Burt.

Cherishing her memories are two sisters, Margie Adams and Channie Tolbert; four nephews, Gregory Adams, David Adams, Eddie Burt and Dexter Tolbert; two nieces, Sharon Payne and Linda Burt; grand nieces, Arin Tolbert, Kassidy Adams and Payton Adams; grand nephews, Nicholas Payne, Carson Adams and Grant Adams; and a host of cousins and friends
