Obituary For Nathaniel Tony Fomby

Home going celebration for Mr. Nathaniel Tony Fomby, 72, will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Cameron Thomas will be the eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Fomby will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Nathaniel Tony Fomby began life’s journey on Monday, September 22, 1947 to union of Willie James Foney and Katie Pope Frank Fomby in Talladega County, Alabama.

Mr. Fomby accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Clair County Training School and furthered his education at Gadsden State Community College. Tony was a former employee of Splice Phone Company for many years. On January 27, 1969, Tony and the former Doris Ann Frazier were united in holy matrimony

On the morning of Wednesday, November 20, 2019, Mr. Fomby answered the Master’s call at his residence. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Doris A. Fomby; and his parents, Willie Foney and Katie Fomby.

Mr. Fomby leaves to continue his legacy: one daughter, Victoria (Demetrius) Jackson of Pell City, Alabama; two grandchildren, Mykhael and De’jah; two brothers-in-law, Gene Frazier and Bishop Willie Ed (Carrie) Frazier; two sisters-in-law, Mary Dean (Ollies) Thomas and Maggie Frazier; a special niece, Shalandra Frazier of Gadsden, Alabama; a special cousin, Dorothy Richens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
