Obituary For Nellie Belinda Swain

Mrs. Nellie Belinda Swain was born on January 4, 1952 in Talladega County, Alabama to Arthur
L. McGhee and Julie Irene Twyman Adams.

She married Ervin Swain on May 7, 1982. She graduated from Winterboro High School and
later Nunnelly Technical College with a Bachelor’s Degree. She later worked at AIDB for 32 years before retiring.

Nellie enjoyed shopping, singing, praise dancing, sewing and spending as much time with her
family as she could. She leaves a legacy of love, joy and warmth that will forever remain in the
hearts of those who knew her.

Nellie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nettie Hester Twyman; two uncles, Bishop
Joseph Twyman and William Sam Twyman; four brothers, Bishop George L. Adams, Steve Adams, Jonathan Adams Sr. and Jeffery Adams.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Dr. Tynea Swain of McCalla, Alabama; nine sisters, Julia Herring (Harrell) of Talladega, Alabama, Elizabeth Garrett (Willie C) of Talladega, Alabama, Mary Stevenson of Talladega, Alabama, Carolyn Tandy (James) of Talladega, Alabama, Angela Adams Ashley (Patrick) of Lincoln, Alabama, Latonya Beavers (Letrek) of Talladega, Alabama, Linda Given of Montgomery, Alabama, Yvonne Swain (Lyvord) of Montgomery, Alabama and Cynthia McGhee of Montgomery, Alabama; three brothers, Henry Adams (Sunette) of Talladega, Alabama, Michael Adams (Tina) of Talladega, Alabama, Van Kelly (Jackie) of Talladega, Alabama; one granddaughter, London O’Neal; two special friends, Kathy and Kirk Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
