Paul Douglas Wills, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was born on Sunday, March 8, 1953, in Talladega, Alabama.
Growing up in Talladega, Paul attended Talladega Public Schools, laying a foundation that would prepare him for a life of hard work and dedication. He spent his career with Crown Textile and Tyson Foods.
Paul is survived by his beloved companion, Ida Swain; he was a devoted father to his daughters, Petrina "Trina" Wills (Christopher Frazier), Paula Denise Wills (Demetryus Washington, Jr.), Takisha Swain and Tameeka Wills (Titus Sterling); and his sons, LaCorey Charlie Wills and Stevie Whitson. His legacy continues through his sixteen adored grandchildren and fifteen treasured great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Mickey) Twymon and Robin D. Scott; his brothers, Billy Joe Player and Stanley Garrett; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his special friends, Benny Morgan and Rev. L. L. Jacobs, who will deeply miss his presence.
Paul passed peacefully from this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charlie Garrett and Quinthella Fluker; his brothers, Leon Wills, Karey Garrett, Charlie Frank Garrett, III, Terry Garrett, Ray Garrett and Michael Garrett; his sisters, Esther Nell Wilson and Linda Gail Wills, Nellie Faye Player and Barbara Glover; his brother-in-law, Bobby Hugh Wilson; and his aunts and uncles, Mary A. Brockman, Barbara Smith, Willie B. Wills, Johnny C. Wills, and Samuel Brock.
Paul Douglas Wills will forever be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and the love he so freely shared with all. May he rest in eternal peace.
