Born on July 13, 1952, Peggy lived a life full of love, joy, and dedication to her family and community.
A longtime member of Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church, Peggy found joy and solace in her faith. Raised in the nurturing environment of Talladega, Peggy was a proud 1970 graduate of Ophelia S Hill High School. She furthered her education at Gadsden State Community College, which laid the foundation for a fruitful career in the field of medicine. Peggy served for many years as a dedicated ER Clerk at Anniston Regional Medical Center, where her warm spirit touched the lives of colleagues and patients alike.
She greatly enjoyed crafting, visiting with friends and family, and engaging in spirited games of cards and dominoes. Her culinary skills will be fondly remembered, as will her unique view of laundry as a labor of love.
Peggy is survived by her devoted daughter, Crystal DeAnn Moore and her husband, Rev. Bradford Moore of Anniston, Alabama; and her son, Kevin Devon Woods, Sr. and his wife, Rev. Monica Woods of Lincoln, Alabama. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished grandchildren: Ferlicia Wilder and her husband, Victor of Douglasville, Georgia, Christopher Gooden and his wife, Sasha, Pastor Kevin Woods, Jr. and Katelyn Woods, all of Lincoln, Alabama and TyShunn Gandy of Anniston, Alabama; as well as eighteen adored great-grandchildren.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her siblings, Veronica Tuck and her husband, William and Brenda Evans and her husband, W. D., all of Talladega, Alabama; and her brother-in-law, Warren Turner and his wife, Faye, also of Talladega, Alabama. Peggy's life was enriched by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, including sister/cousins, Carolyn Drake of Huntsville, Alabama and Schreeda Johnson and her husband, Craig of Woodstock, Georgia and many friends.
Peggy Lee Meadows, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on October 13, 2026, at the age of 74. Peggy was predeceased by her loving spouse, George Meadows; her great grandson, Christopher Gooden, Jr.; her parents, Walter Lee Turner and Mary Turner; her grandparents, Clara and Ell Turner, Sr. and Georgia and Squire Jenkins and the Meadows sisters and brothers.
As we celebrate Peggy's life and legacy, let us find comfort in the love she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace, Peggy, knowing that your life made a difference to so many.
