Mrs. Rosie E. Wright-Curry was born to the late Pertis Wright and Jennie Mae Garrett in Wadley, Alabama on August 8, 1938. Mrs. Curry accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wadley, Alabama. After moving to the Mardisville area, she planted roots in Talladega, Alabama, where she later joined The Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Rosie Wright met Mr. Thomas Curry, and after a wonderful courtship, they decided to marry. And, to this union were born three children: Kennith Curry, Mary Curry and Stanley Curry. Mrs. Curry had two sons prior to her marriage to Mr. Thomas Curry, Tommy Wright and Michael Wright. Mr. Curry accepted these two sons as though they were his own. Mrs. Curry was blessed with 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
After joining The Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, she became a faithful member, and fulfilled many roles in the Church. She was a member of the Adult Choir, Church Secretary, President of the Missionary Board, Mother of the Church, and a mentor to the youth and others. Mrs. Curry was a homemaker/caregiver and ran her own store, where she made the best ICEES in Talladega. The young and the old wanted her ICEES.
Mrs. Curry left her earthly home for her Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Perdis Wright and Mrs. Jennie M. Garrett-Staples; her husband, Mr. Thomas Curry; two sons, Mr. Tommy L. Wright and Mr. Michael R. Wright; four siblings, Mr. Curtis Wright, Mr. Javan Staples, Mr. Veneleophus Wright and Mrs. Mamie Tibbs; two grandsons, Mr. Eliezer Manuel Pagan, and Mr. Kenyale Turner.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons; Mr. Kennith Curry of Talladega, Alabama and Mr. Stanley Curry of Killeen, Texas; one daughter; Ms. Mary G. Curry of Gadsden, Alabama; two step-daughters: Mrs. Diana (Dennis) Parker and Ms. Cheryl Sanders of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Ms. Elizabeth Wright of Talladega, Alabama; special niece/goddaughter, Mrs. Brenda J Coleman of Talladega, Alabama; grandsons: Michael Wright, Jr. of California and Kennith Turner of Anniston, Alabama; granddaughters: Ms. Tracey Wright of California, Mrs. Rena Wright-Swain of Alpine, Alabama, Mrs. LaTesha King of Talladega, Alabama, Ms. Sherylyn Wright of Talladega, Alabama, Mrs. Violet Curry-Gresham of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Nequaria Truitt of Talladega, Alabama and Ms. Khadijah Curry of Lincoln, Alabama; great-grandson, Tadarius Wright of Talladega, Alabama; (great-granddaughters) Ms. NaKyria Wright of Talladega, Alabama and Ms. Stephanie Wright of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
