Obituary For Ruthie Mae Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruthie M. Jones of Sycamore, 85, will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2020, at the funeral home.

On April 22, 1935, Ms. Ruthie Mae Jones began her earthly journey in Talladega County, Alabama entrusted to the care of William L. Jones and Catherine Chapman Jones.

Ms. Jones committed her life to Jesus Christ and found her church family at Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Ruthie received her education in Talladega County and upon completion she dedicated her time to her family.

On the morning of Sunday, November 29, 2020, Ruthie began her eternal journey. She preceded on the path to eternity by her parents, William and Catherine Jones; a son, Gary T. Jones; a granddaughter, LaBreka LaToya Smoot; one sister, Vera S. Stennis; and three brothers, William Jones, Jr., Frank H. Jones and Lewis Jones.

Ms. Jones leaves to cherish his memory: five daughters, Tongule Y. (Brinkley) Smoot, Angela F. Jones (William) Beavers, Debra A. (Reverend Joe) Shirel of Talladega, Alabama, Cassandra Evans-Meadows of Sycamore, Alabama and Sharon E. Jones of Talladega, Alabama; two sons, Luruth Jones of Sycamore, Alabama and Bishop Donnell (Cheree) Jones of Talladega, Alabama; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Louise Williams of Talladega, Alabama and Roberta Johnson of Anderson, Indiana; one brother, Ralph (Maggie) Jones of Anderson, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
