Obituary For Shameca Lenette Estell

A celebration of life for Ms. Shameca Lenette Estell, 32, will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cropwell. Reverend Cameron Thomas is the pastor. Bishop Maurice Keller will deliver the eulogy. Visitation for Ms. Estell will be from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the church.

On Saturday, January 30, 1988, Ms. Shameca Lenette Estell began her earthly journey to the union of Albert Lee Watkins and Veronica Danette Estell in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ms. Estell gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and later with Faith Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama. Currently, Shameca as a member of Church of the Highlands where her passion and love for children lead her to assist with the children’s ministry. Shameca was a member of the 2006 graduating class of Pell City High School. She continued her education at Jacksonville State University and on December 13, 2018, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Shameca began her career in education at Jacksonville Christian Academy and was currently a kindergarten teacher at Randolph Park Elementary School in Anniston, Alabama. In her spare time, Shameca enjoyed spending time with heart’s joy, Symoné and RaQuel. She also enjoyed cooking and had a genuine passion for working and being around children.

Shameca began her eternal journey while she was a patient at Brookwood Medical Center. She was preceded in passing by her grandparents, Harvey Watkins, Buford and Mary Estell; three uncles and four aunts.

Ms. Estell leaves to cherish her memories: her two daughters, Symoné Estell-Sanders and RaQuel Faith Estell of Odenville, Alabama; her parents, Albert L. Watkins and Veronica D. Estell of Odenville, Alabama; grandmother, Mildred Watkins of Odenville, Alabama; two sisters, LaTrenda (Jamaal) Clegg of Lincoln, Alabama and Dana Estell (Tremayne) Fair of Childersburg, Alabama; one brother, Alriece Estell of Odenville, Alabama; five nephews, Devin Clegg, LaShon Estell, Desmond Estell, Zahir Scales and Elijah Scales; two special friends, Jeleigh Patterson and Angela Hutchinson; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
