Obituary For Victoria Beck Tolley

A celebration of life honoring Mrs. Victoria Beck Tolley, 56, of Hueytown will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be held in the Beck Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the funeral home.

On January 5, 1967, Albert C. Beck and Myrtle Chatman Beck of Talladega, Alabama welcomed the last child to their family, a daughter that they gave the name Victoria.

As the baby of eleven children raised in the Beck household, Victoria’s foundation in the teachings of Christ were established within the walls of Howard Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She received her education in the Talladega County Schools and was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. Victoria continued her education, earning a bachelors and masters’ degree, from Jacksonville State University. Currently, she was employed with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. On August 28, 1992, Victoria married the love of her life, David Tolley and they were blessed with three children: Samantha, Savannah and Demetrius.

Those that knew Victoria, knew that she marched to the beat of her own drum. She had a unique fashion sense and a very eclectic style. She would often find items that left you with so many questions, but somehow they always seem to end up making sense in the end. Victoria took her eye for the eccentric, coupled it with a little bit of entrepreneurial spirit and created a store of “knick knack” items for those looking to cash in on a variety of gadgets and other quirky goods.

Victoria leaves to mourn her passing: three children, Samantha Mae Tolley, Savannah Grace (Chris Calhoun) Tolley and Demetrius David Tolley of Hueytown, Alabama; four grandchildren, Lila A., Nila A. Navaeh and Ahmir, Jr.; four siblings, Juliette Collins (Herbert) of Talladega, Alabama, Delois Cook (Gerald) of Talladega, Alabama, Cedric Beck (Retonja) of Lincoln, Alabama and Annie Eaton of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.

After a brief illness, Victoria peacefully passed away on December 28, 2023, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in passing by her husband of 28 years, David Tolley; her parents, Albert and Myrtle Beck; and six siblings, Albert C., Barbara, Janice, Marie, John and Amelia.
