On Monday, October 11, 1948, W. C. and Ida Mae Mosley welcomed a cherished daughter named Virginia Dale Mosley.
A woman of strong faith, Virginia sang joyously in the choir at Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a proud graduate of Ophelia Hill High School, class of 1966. For many years, she worked as a laundry worker at the Helen Keller School for the Blind, where her hard work and dedication were evident to all who knew her. Virginia was also an avid football fan, cheering passionately for her favorite team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, with her iconic "Roll Tide" spirit.
Virginia was the loving mother of three daughters: Rose Jackson and Barbara Jones of Talladega, AL, and Aretha Turner of Smyrna, TN. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Smith, Brittina Brown, Iesha (Stacy) Jackson, Cory Davis, Quin "Bigg" Jackson, Howard Jackson, Drek Jones, and Marquis Jones. She was further blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, including Aaron Curry, Danielle Smith, Kierian Smitherman, Kassidy Carter, Iyuna Jackson, Stacy Jackson, Cashlyn Davis, Elyjah Turner, Amri Sneed, Cardiair Davis, Corbyn Bowman, and Ziquiez Jones.
Virginia is also survived by her devoted sisters, Shirley Jones of Talladega, AL and Edna Edison of McKinney, TX; her brother, Clifford Mosley of Talladega, AL; her sisters-in-law, Ella Marie Mosley and Jennie Mosley of Talladega, AL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Among those friends, her special bond with Janet Forbes will be fondly remembered.
Virginia passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Turner; her loving parents, W. C. Moseley and Ida Mosley; and her siblings, Lestine Easley, Christine Miller, James Mosley, Willie C. Mosley, Robert Mosley, Herman Mosley, Thurman Mosley, Clyde Mosley, and William L. Mosley.
She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know and love her.
