Obituary For Wiley "Pig" Heath
Mr. Wiley Heath, Jr. was the baby child born to the union of Jim Wiley and Lessie Calhoun Heath on June 21, 1948 in Alpine, Alabama. Wiley was the last baby delivered by a midwife, Mrs. Vina Dates.
At a young age he joined Kingston Missionary Baptist Church. Wiley graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School. He entered the work field at Bemis Bag Company, Crown Textile and Labor Local 559. He then pursued a career in Truck Driving with American Cyanamid, MDS Concrete, and McDonald’s before retiring from One World Logistics of Lincoln, Alabama.
Wiley became a father in 1973. In October, 1978, he married Nellye Garrett Heath and to this union two children were born.
Wiley entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 12, 2025 at UAB St Vincent’s East Hospital in Trussville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Wiley and Lessie Heath; his brothers, Julius (JC) Heath, Walter Heath, Eddie Heath and James Heath; his sisters, Flossie Heath Frazier, Arie Heath Sturns, Deliah Heath Nunn and Marie Heath; and sister/niece, Margaret Heath Nix.
He will be remembered and cherished by his three children: Faticia (William) Keith of Alpine, Alabama, Wiley DeLan Heath of Alabaster, Alabama and Leslie Shenicka Heath of Alpine, Alabama; two grandchildren, Davida (Cornelius) Lee and Fontavious Garrett; three great grandchildren, Jordan Lee, Jaida Lee and Trinity Garrett; his brother, John Paul Heath of Alpine, AL; sister-niece, Grace Hampton of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, Mildred Heath of Ashland, AL, Mary Heath of Talladega, AL and Johnnie Mae Heath of Childersburg, AL; brother-in-law, Walter Frazier of New York, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, John Wayne Jordan, Darryl Mallory, Brett Strickland and others; special first cousins, Jimmie and Alfonso Calhoun of Buffalo, New York; caring neighbors, Hayden, Jacey, Jessica, Larry, Mrs. Dollie Finn and Joanie Finn.
