Willie Faye Collins, a beloved resident of Alpine, AL, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on Wednesday, February 1, 1950, in Talladega, AL, Willie Faye lived a life full of compassion, dedication, and love.
Faye was also an active member of her community, serving as a Deaconess at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and as member of the Brown #891 Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Stars. She had a passion for helping others and found joy in her hobbies, which included a deep love for cats, cross-stitching, and tending to her flourishing flower and vegetable gardens. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident in everything she touched.
A dedicated and compassionate licensed practical nurse, Willie Faye graduated from Talladega County Training School and earned an Associate Degree as an LPN from N.F. Nunnelley State Technical College. She spent many years caring for patients at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, AL, where her gentle touch and warm smile brought comfort to countless individuals.
Willie Faye was the cherished wife of Jerry Collins, with whom she shared 57 beautiful year. She was a devoted mother to Dr. Vandalyn (Geno) McGrue, who resides in Alpine, AL and she was the proud grandmother of Judith Elizabeth Collins. Her family was the center of her world, and her warmth and kindness will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
She is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Keith of Birmingham, AL, Shirley Brown of Alpine, AL, and Betty Fomby of Akron, OH; her brothers, Michael (Jannie) Keith of Alpine, AL, Archie (Geraldine) Keith of Munford, AL, Bernard Keith of Atlanta, GA and Frank Polk Fomby of Pell City, AL; her uncle, Dr. Leonard Cole, Sr., of Alpine, AL. Faye was a beloved sister-in-law to Natalie Cunningham of Alpine, AL, Mozelle Staples of Carrollton, GA, Ruth Ellen Williams, Melvia Jean Davis, and Lena Vanessa Collins of Alpine, AL, and Sandra Adams of Bartlett, TN. Her brothers-in-law include Fred Collins of Gadsden, AL, Spencer (Brenda) Collins of Alpine, AL, Melvin Earl Collins of Griffith, GA, Rockwell Collins of Alpine, AL, Efrem Collins of Childersburg, AL, and Lamont (Rosalyn) Collins of Chester, VA; She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who were touched by her gentle spirit.
Willie Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Eashmon and Viola Keith; her sisters, Judith Keith and Nancy Garrett; her brothers, DeWayne Keith and E. C. Barclay; her aunt, Margaret Williams; and her uncle, Everett Cole.
Willie Faye Collins will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her loving nature, dedication to caring for others, and the joy she brought to her family and friends will leave an enduring legacy. As we remember Faye, may her life inspire us to live with the same compassion and love that she so freely gave to others.

Faye was such a beautiful sassy and classy soul. She was an incredible person. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, she had a way making everyone feel special and loved. We will miss you and hold on to the love and joy you brought into our lives.
Jerry, we were so sorry to hear about Faye, you and your family have our condolence. Jesus promised that those sleeping in death will come to life in the resurrection (John 5:28,29).
