Willie Mae Moton was born on Tuesday, October 19, 1943, in Talladega, Alabama to Willie Johnson and Annie Moton.
She was a member of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
She attended Talladega High School and furthered her studies at Talladega Vocational School, embodying a life dedicated to learning and hard work.
For many years, Willie Mae worked as a housekeeper at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, Alabama. Her dedication, strong work ethic, and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on her colleagues and all those who had the pleasure to work alongside her.
In her leisure time, Willie Mae found joy in cooking, solving puzzles, and watching TV. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially sitting on her porch and connecting with others. Her genuine love for people was evident in all her interactions, and she was deeply admired and appreciated by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters, Classie Jennings of Talladega, AL, Cynthia (Jasper) Curry of Huntsville, AL, Henrietta (Alvin) Turner and Annie Morton of Talladega, AL; her brother, Frankie (Kay) Moton of Talladega, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Connie Hughes, Sallye Moton and Ronnie Appleberry.
Willie Mae Moton passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Johnson and Annie Moton; her sister, Maggie Heflin; her brothers, Eddie Lee Moton, Andrew Moton, Nelson Moton and John T. Moton.
Willie Mae's life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and community spirit. Her presence will be sorely missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
