Obituary For Barbara Jean Hicks
Barbara Jean Harris Hicks was born on November 4, 1940, and transitioned to eternal life on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Fuquay-Varina Health & Rehabilitation Center, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
Barbara lived her entire life within the Wake County area and attended local schools in Holly Springs and Fuquay. She was a 1972 graduate of Hardbarger's Business College. She worked at Wake Memorial Hospital and Rex Hospital for over thirty years after which she became a security guard at Tipper Tie in Apex before her retirement.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Barham Harris, father, Onice Rodgers and sister, Ernestine Harris Budd.

Daughter - Trina Atkinson, Crestview, Florida
Grandchildren - Roderiquis (Phyllis) Atkinson, Wichita, Kansas; Tricette Savage, Montgomery, Alabama; Miya (DJ) Fisher, Milton, Florida
Great Grandchildren - Tinesha (Tyler)Davis, TJ (Tahitaunah) Riley, Kiana, Tyrique and Christopher Atkinson, Kaila and Tommy Sutterfield, Jacob Savage
Great Grand Grandchildren - Darius Fagan, Anna Davis, Tyler Davis, Jr., Naomi Albert, Niyle and N'Kailyn Miller, and Auhmarrah Davis
Cousins - Bettina Osbourne, Evelyn Moss, Dorothy Thorpe and a host of other relatives and friends
Special Friend - Evangelist Allie P. Knight
Public Viewing: 1:00 - 6:00 pm Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Trice Funeral Home Chapel in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Funeral will be held 11:00 am Friday, November 7, 2025, at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
Burial: Holly Springs Town Cemetery, 451 W. Earp Street in Holly Springs, NC 27540.
