Ms. Betty was the embodiment of love and acceptance. She was the first person I worked with on assembly at JDTC. It has always taken a lot to impress me in the work place. However, with Ms. Betty, I was impressed with work ethic and honesty in the first few minutes. She set a standard and expected you to meet it. For me, it was a joy to work with someone that cared about her job as much as I do. That legacy will stay with me. I pray that her family is blessed with love and support in the coming months and years as Ms. Betty looks on in heaven. I will miss her greatly but will rest easy knowing that she is at peace in heaven.

Ann – Today they are taking you to your final resting place. I am still in shock, but I know your Spirit/Soul is with the Lord. I envisioned Ms. Lucille, Mattie, Mr. Murdaugh and Ray at the gate waiting for you to cross over into Eternal Life. I met you 27 years ago and from that first day until the last time we talked, you were full of Love, Light and Grace. I loved how you Praised God. You knew He is Worthy of Praise, Honor and Glory and you gave it to Him, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You Magnified, Adored and Exalted His Holy Name. You did not play with Our God and He Did Not Play With You. I witnessed God answer some powerful prayers on your behalf. Hallelujah to the King! When I think of your transition, A Song comes to mind entitled, "I Am On The Battlefield For My Lord" – I promised Him that I, would serve him until I die, I am on the battlefield for My Lord. I served with Betty as an usher and class leader at St. Paul AME Church. We will miss her sweet, gentle spirit. Praying that your special memories of times spent with her will comfort and strengthen you today and in the months and years ahead.

We are lighting a candle in memory of Betty and her good deeds. We do not have the words to express the difficulty that we had in accosting the news of her passing. She sounded so so happy and well the last time that I(Hope) spoke with her. We do know that Betty had a relationship with God. We are prying for the loved ones, but we feel that Betty would want them to grieve, but not linger in grief. It was devastating when I was told of Betty's passing, as I had just seen and talked with her on Saturday while ushering. As usual, she kept me laughing. She had such a great sense of humor. She was one of the sweetest and kindness person that I have come in contact with. She was so genuine. To the family..I am loss for words right now. I just spoke with Betty on Friday morning and we had our long usual conversation about her daughter and how she was doing and even spoke about her son. The last thing she said was I will see you on Saturday and I will definitely be there to Usher. She faithfully served on that day and when we received word of her passing I was in disbelief. We will truly miss her as she had such a positive attitude and just a phenomenal woman. The loss is immeasurable but so is the love Betty left behind.
