Obituary For Burlee Kersey

Burlee Kersey, 84 of Raleigh, NC passed at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC on July 6, 2020. Deacon Kersey was preceded in death by his sons Burlee Kersey Jr. and Morris Kersey, daughter Jacqueline Kersey, and grandson Jared Holliday. He leaves to remember his life his wife and caregiver, Lola M. Kersey of Raleigh, NC; daughters Cynthia Smith (Lloyd) of Wendell, NC and Charlotte Holliday (Russell) of Erwin, NC; son Jeffrey Kersey (Edna) of Bel Air, MD; brothers Wayne Kersey of Raleigh, NC and Maurice Kersey of Fayetteville NC; sisters Elder Brenda Geraldine Bowles of Raleigh, NC and Ann Boles of Fuquay-Varina NC; grandchildren, Tamica K. Perkins (Jerrell), LaPonda K. Salisbury (Jamal), Wanda Williams, Jocelyn Kersey, Burlee Tobias Kersey, Quanda Cooper, Austin Holliday (Kurstine), Jacqueline Kersey, Shanda Kersey and Mya Smith; great grandchildren Cameron Salisbury, Jaydon Kersey, Cassidy Salisbury, Carlyah Salisbury, Kennedy Perkins, Jackson Perkins, Sebastian Holliday, Jeffrey “LJ” Kersey, and T’Challa Salisbury; a host of other relatives and friends and a special brother in Christ Deacon Alexander and Deacon William Parmlee.

Visitation: 12:00 - 2:00 pm Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526

Graveside service will be held 10:00 am Monday, July 13, 2020 at Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Rd in Garner, NC 27529.

Please wear a MASK in order to attend the viewing at the funeral home and the graveside service.

I know my cousin Burlee will be missed. My cousin & I, always had a great relationship & he was always interested in our family history in which was passed down to me that I have tried so graciously to keep & treasure. Mrs. Charlotte I am going to miss hearing you talking about your dad. I never met him but the conversations, the joy on your face when she spoke about him. Mrs. Charlotte's family became my family just by her coming into work daily with a smile on her face talking about her family. Mrs. Charlotte your dad was well taken care of by you, and your family. Burlee will truly" will be miss !!

My daddy was a strong man of God. He would call daily to have a mini Bible study always wanting to grow more spiritually through studying the Word of God. I am truly going to miss our talks and hearing him praise the Lord for His goodness.
