Obituary For Cora Hicks McKoy
Cora Odell Hicks-Mckoy was born on September 29, 1925, in Harnett County NC. She was the youngest of 11 Children born to Charlie & Cora Harrington- Hicks. She was educated in the Harnett County School system. She attended Bethlehem Church in Kipling NC. After graduating from high school, she married Grover Mckoy. They relocated to Hempstead, New York They had no Children. She began a career in the nursing field until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Grover Mckoy, and her Parents Charlie and Cora Harrington- Hicks. 3 Brother James Hicks, Furman Hicks, Milton Hicks. 7 sisters Essie Hicks- Lyons, Virgie Hicks- Williams, Mattie Hicks-Pierce, Olivia Hicks-Spencer, Roberta Hicks-Dewar, Vally Hicks-Thorpe, and Buelah Hicks.
She leaves to cherish her memory; 3 nephews James (Lee Howard) Hicks, Curtis Hicks, and Robert Lee Thorpe. 3 nieces Dillie Douglas, Beverly Johnson, and Sabrina Mckoy. A host of great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends. A special friend Carol Eason.
Funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Trice Funeral Home, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
Burial: Starlight Memorial Gardens, Lois Lane in Holly Springs, NC 27540

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Cora's Family. When she visited Family here in Fuquay, she often made a point to stop by and visit with Daddy. When she was a young child, she and her Family would Trade at my grandparents store, the Hill Top Service Station. I've fond memories of Days gone by.4
